Within an organisation there will be any number of relevant events that take place throughout the lifetime of any business process. Our second area of focus is in the whole Corporate Governance area
including the newly emerging Environmental, Social, Ethical and Supply
Chain Governance areas. Our
technology has allowed us to address the need for a unified governance
management framework that incorporates Continuous
Auditing and Monitoring combined with the capability to initiate
variable automated responses to particular exceptions.
Two areas, one Unified Framework
We offer a unique bridge between operations and governance, a bridge that can be lacking if the solution focus is on a single business area.
By addressing both areas we offer the opportunity to create a flexible, unified framework in which the expenditure of effort and resources from one area can be re-used across the business as a whole. Rules designed in audit for example, can be “tweaked“ and re-purposed to gain benefits in other business units within operations.

Operations
Here we look at how the Solution has a beneficial effect on the organization, potentially tying together standalone legacy systems and leveraging or extending the business investment already made by “brokering” between them and more mainstream systems for CRM, ERM etc.
The concepts of Supply Chain Event Management (SCEM) and Business Activity Monitoring (BAM) are also revisited to explore how these have a massive positive effect on the organization and to highlight how Categoric's solutions facilitate this.
A practical and prosaic look at implementation is covered as well as indications of when a fast track approach should be taken to maximize savings or other benefits.
Lastly the concept of re-purposing rules created for another business unit, area or discipline is explored with procurement as an example of a beneficiary of re-purposed rules from Internal Audit.
Governance
Here we identify the growing need to present a 'joined up' view of the various assurances and outputs from a wide variety of sources - for Governance, Risk Management, Compliance, Social, Ethical, Environmental and Supply Chain stakeholders.
The similarity between the processes in these various areas is highlighted as is the common need for monitoring of data and activities and the automation of actions and reports when certain circumstances dictate.
The flexible use of the same technology at differing levels within the business underlines the potential to reuse the investment in time and resources across multiple business areas and functions.
Compliance drivers are highlighted as are the various regulatory frameworks and the way that these are supported and satisfied by utilizing Categoric's solutions are examined.
Continuous Auditing is defined and the benefits for the organisation and the identified stakeholders from using Accord to achieve this are explored. Continuous auditing/monitoring of controls and the potential benefits of automation are also highlighted as are the differences between the two.
Creating the basis of a sustainable Unified Framework between governance stakeholders and operations is covered as is the concept of multiple recipients of the solution output and sponsorship of the solution into the business by Internal Audit to enhance operational control.
