Products Overview

Historically, Categoric has the proud claim to being one of the very first companies in the world to identify and extol the virtues of proactive business management through alerting technology. Our early (now retired) Categoric "Alerts" lead the market and paved the way for our enhanced “Xalerts” brand which in turn allowed us to develop “Accord”.

Easy to use
Categoric's proactive business management technology provides an easy-to-use solution for supporting a wide variety of organization and industry initiatives such as:

  • Supply Chain Event Management (SCEM)
  • Governance, Risk and Compliance Management (GRC)
  • Business Activity Monitoring (BAM)
  • Environmental, Social, Ethical and Supply Chain Governance
  • Business Process Management
  • Continuous Monitoring and Auditing
  • Event Management
  • Alerting and Notification
  • Collaboration
  • Workflow

One of the keys to our success has been to integrate industry standard technologies and interfaces to allow the maximum connectivity and interoperability with little or no impact on existing IT systems. Through the use of these standards businesses can be confident of leveraging the most from the systems they have while investing in future-proof technologies.

Our easy-to-use visual builder makes it simple to create a representation of the desired business rule or business process and can be intuitively used by technical and non-technical personnel alike.

Xalerts and Accord - what do they do?
More detail is available under each individual section, but at a high level the simple explanation is often the best and here is a non-technical description of how Categoric's products - * Join/Glue * Monitor * Automate * Inform/Make visible *  - data and information from different systems.

  • Glues – ie draws its information from multiple application systems and other internal and external (inter-enterprise) sources, enabling a broader and richer view of the organization’s activities to be taken and to initiate actions that flow across several systems that don’t normally work together.  Because it sits ‘over’ the existing systems it has minimal effect on ‘business as usual’ and won’t create a dip in performance during implementation.

  • Monitors – ‘exceptions’ and ‘events’ are monitored in real time; the relevant people and systems are alerted as exceptions occur against defined parameters, allowing immediate action to take place as a result.  Unlike systems that report on what has occurred in the past, real-time monitoring allows event updating to take place as it happens – and, combined with alerting and responding, it facilitates instant response.

  • Automates – enabling the many variable responses to particular circumstances to be managed much more efficiently and reliably.

  • key actions will automatically be undertaken each and every time

  • errors will be reduced and the subsequent quality of the activity improved

  • less time will be spent re-checking to ensure that things happened ‘as they should’

  • time and resources can be saved by ensuring that the most efficient and cost-effective response is undertaken.

Repetitive human activities can now be scheduled in to happen, by default, exactly when they need to, thus removing the tedium from routine actions plus the cost of the head count involved and associated management.

  • Makes visible – event or exception conditions to be monitored are defined using an organization's existing query structures.  Notification takes place via devices that employees, suppliers, and customers already use on a daily basis – pagers, cell phones, e-mail, faxes, and web browsers.  Information flows directly and immediately to employees, suppliers, customers or systems wherever they are – whenever something important happens to which they need to respond.

Rules once designed can become part of an organisational “library” of rules that  can be “tweaked” or easily adjusted to achieve similar results elsewhere within the business.
