Overland Storage designs and manufactures data storage products. Due to rapid growth, the increased volume of orders put pressure on staff, internal systems, and business processes. Such pressure made the potential for order and shipping errors significant, intensifying the need to synchronize sales, service and manufacturing.
Overland implemented Categoric's solution to manage exceptions in their order to ship business processes. Overland uses the robust real-time event management engine to monitor multiple databases and systems throughout the company.

NYK Line is a global shipping firm that currently has the world’s biggest cargo fleet. It also operates its own freight terminals, road and rail haulage operations and manages all of the logistics infrastructure in between.
NYK’s required an IT solution that would help it service its customers in a more proactive manner. In addition, the company needed a cost-effective customer relationship management (CRM) solution that could work with its existing IT systems.

Quantum Case Study
-
22.02.2007
-
Quantum Corporation is a major manufacturer of hard disk drives and other high-technology storage components. Quantum faced two key challenges in its manufacturing process.
- Finding a solution that would automate the ordering process to increase accuracy and efficiency, reduce on-hand inventory to three days, and provide buyers with more time for non-transactional tasks. - Improving the quality of the component data in their Material Requirements Planning (MRP) system to allow them to proactively catch problems before they caused production delays.
Although Quantum could have built an event detection and notification solution internally or used somewhat similar capabilities in its Oracle Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system, the company decided that both options would be too time-consuming and inflexible. Only the Categoric system enabled Quantum to tap into multiple data sources to identify critical business events. In addition, installation of the Categoric software took less than two days, and many functions were written in minutes.

RHM Case Study
-
22.02.2007
-
RHM Foodservice (RHMFS) is the UK’s leading supplier of products, brands and services for the foodservice industry.
Issues with non-moving stock, over-selling goods, low stock levels, stock adjustments, invoice errors and overdue customer orders are all considered business critical at RHMFS, and delays and customer dissatisfaction will result if problems in these areas are not dealt with immediately. In these instances – and many others – being able to act in real time can save money, improve customer and supplier relations and tighten up the supply chain.
RHMFS needed to find an effective long-term solution that could operate alongside its existing infrastructure, without disrupting customers and business performance and that would not involve an enormous overhaul of its current methods and controls, possibly resulting in delays, disruption and lost business.
