Organizations failing to recycle compliance spend |
Latest research from the Aberdeen group shows that despite significant spending on SOX, organizations are failing to take advantage of the opportunity to use this investment to drive compliance visibility initiatives for non-financial and other non-SOX related compliance.
They also note...
...that while nearly three quarters of businesses surveyed
have a compliance visibility initiative underway, most of these
initiatives remain manual in nature.
This failure highlights the problems faced by organizations struggling
with a legacy of manual and home grown systems that are still
predominantly being used to ensure compliance with non-financial
governance issues. They found that "best in class" organizations
were twice as likely to have a compliance systems infrastructure for
tracking auditing and management and draw the conclusion that
automation is a necessity for achieving sustainable compliance in the
long run. (Source: Aberdeen Group)
